Something personal
Marcel is an experienced movement instructor. Through his Groove and Move project, he helps people develop a positive relationship with movement and make it a natural part of their lives. Besides that, he mainly plays bass guitar, but also pretty much anything that makes a sound. He is an energetic and positive kind of madman, with more than 10 years of experience teaching both young people and adults. He is interested in his own movement practice, learning, canine sports, mountains, camping, and sleeping in his car.
1) How would you describe your job in one sentence?
My goal is to take care of our clients: to understand their specific needs and then design learning programs that support their growth. In one word: sales guy. :)
2) What has influenced you in life, and how does it show up in your work?
I have been influenced by things throughout my whole life, so it is hard for me to pick just one event or person. I love development, movement, and music. Since I was young, I have been involved in various sports, studied at the Faculty of Sports Studies in Brno, and helped lead others in that direction as well. Karate and dance have had a major influence on me, and I still draw on both in different roles in my life today.
3) Why do you work for humancraft?
There are amazing people here and leadership that communicates exceptionally well. We spend roughly 20 days a year together at off-sites, which creates a great space for growth. Everyone here receives an enormous amount of feedback on their performance. It is a great mix of pragmatism and a human approach.
4) What has been your biggest challenge at humancraft so far?
I originally joined as a less experienced trainer among a group of seasoned professionals with rich business experience. So presenting in front of others and receiving feedback are still a big challenge for me today. But it is worth it!
5) How does your work influence your personal development and career?
Enormously. It connects to my answers to the previous questions: development, access to a huge amount of know-how, and great contacts. At the same time, I would add that I consider sales skills to be something that is useful for everyone, both professionally and personally.
6) What are the biggest challenges in corporate education today, and how is humancraft addressing them?
Keeping up with constant changes in the business environment and technology. I would say we try to address these challenges through continuous innovation and by adapting our programs. We need to stay relevant and respond to the current and future needs of companies — including skills such as agility, leadership, and team dynamics.
