Something work-related
Katka spent 15 years in the corporate world in telecommunications, working in both marketing and human resources. What fascinated her most there was learning and development, change projects, and everything related to building company culture. After the birth of her children, she worked as an external consultant for smaller companies, mainly in HR. She also spent several years in her own franchise — the family retail and online company Butlers — where she focused primarily on people, stores, product management, pricing, analysis, and planning for both channels. Having worked in both expert and managerial roles with different areas of focus, she decided in 2024 to pass on her experience at humancraft and to develop and inspire others. She mainly focuses on soft skills such as communication and presentation skills, change management, time management, management development, and — her absolute favourite — talent development in companies.
Something personal
Outside work, Katka loves spending time with her family and travelling together. More than anything else, she recharges her batteries through sport — almost any kind of sport, from running, cycling, swimming, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, ski touring, and yoga, to joining any team activity. She loves sport so much that her side passion is sports coaching and leading various group classes, from circuit training to yoga.
1) How would you describe your job in one sentence?
Thanks to my professional experience and the well of inspiration and know-how at humancraft, I have the opportunity to help people move forward professionally and often personally as well.
2) What has influenced you in life, and how does it show up in your work?
My family has influenced me the most. They have taught me to slow down, be more patient, and I also want to dedicate a lot of my time to them. humancraft gives me a huge amount of flexibility, and in return I am able to bring much more enthusiasm and energy to our projects.
3) Why do you work for humancraft?
Because humancraft is demanding and sets the bar very high — and I like that. :-) At the same time, it gives me a great deal of know-how, inspiration, and support from colleagues who are true professionals in their fields. I can not only pass things on to others, but also keep learning here myself.
4) What has been your biggest challenge at humancraft so far?
Continuous and frequent feedback about me, and support in learning to give feedback more actively to others as well. Learning to receive even difficult feedback, accept it, and see it as a tool for my own development. And learning to give feedback to others with empathy, while still being constructive.
5) How does your work influence your personal development and career?
It helps me stop more often, think, and reflect on past, current, or future steps, rather than relying only on personal or professional experience.
6) What are the biggest challenges in corporate education today, and how is humancraft addressing them?
Constant change, the enormous speed expected of everyone, and pressure to deliver results. But we should not forget that most results are achieved through people. Humanity matters — each of us is unique, and each of us has different problems, needs, and attitudes.
At humancraft, we try to go deep with clients into their real needs and create something that truly helps both the company and individual people. We do not do training for training’s sake. When the training itself takes place, we try to make sure people experience as much as possible firsthand, pause, reflect, and leave us not just with theory, but with something genuinely useful that they will want to start using in their everyday practice.
